Lanercost’s six beautifully appointed Cumbrian holiday cottages offer guests the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the estate and to explore this stunning, unspoiled corner of England.
The six cottages were created in 2009 out of the original 19th century Abbey Farm and form a courtyard conversion adjacent to the historic 12th century Priory buildings. Our three larger properties are rated 4 star gold whilst our three smaller cottages are rated 4 star. They have all been individually designed to provide an exceptionally high standard of accommodation whilst retaining many original features. Each property features a modern, fully equipped kitchen, luxurious en-suite bathroom & shower rooms, oak flooring, beautiful soft furnishings throughout, free wi-fi and LCD flat-screen television as standard in the living area. All the properties have their own private car parking and entrances on to the charming flagged courtyard.
If you are planning a long weekend away, a family get together, a friend’s reunion or simply want to treat yourself to a well earned mid-week break – then Lanercost is the place for you. Let us know your requirements and we will match you to one of our spectacular properties. Dacre, De Vaux and De Moulton cottages offer excellent accommodation for two persons up to a family of four. Families of four to five may wish to consider Greystoke, our two bedroom house, offering a little more space and the flexible option of a sofabed. De Brotherton is our three bedroom property and is popular with extended parties, able to comfortably accommodate up to six people. Our largest property is Howard House, with four spacious bedrooms and an extensive kitchen dining & living area – making it the perfect choice for larger groups of up to eight. Howard is particularly popular with corporate bookings and where two separate families wish to holiday together.
For multiple cottage bookings, we'd recommend choosing either Greystoke or De Brotherton due to their larger and more flexible dining facilities. In both properties, an additional dining table and chairs are available upon request, allowing up to 12 guests to dine together - perfect if you are planning a 'group' getaway.
