From the South and West: M6 junction 43, travel eastwards on the A69 (Hexham and Newcastle), through Warwick Bridge to Brampton. Once in the town turn right at the T junction, and continue along until bearing left along the road immediately before the green, signposted Lanercost Priory.  After approximately 3 miles, take the first right hand turning just after the ‘Lanercost’ village signpost.  Lanercost Tea Room is immediately on your left and Lanercost Holiday Cottages are in the courtyard development immediately behind.  The gravelled car park for Cottage guests is on your right.

From the North: M6 junction 44, travel eastwards on the A689. Take the turning to the left signposted Brampton. Leaving the town behind you, bear left along the road immediately before the green, signposted Lanercost Priory. Continue as per directions above.

From the East: A69 from Newcastle, Corbridge, Hexham. Approximately 9 miles west of Haltwhistle, look out for a turning on the right signposted to Lanercost. This is the road to Naworth Castle which is narrow and goes over a cattle grid. Follow this road, passing to the left of Naworth Castle, to the end. Turn right at the T junction where this road joins the road from Brampton to Lanercost.  If you miss the original turning off the A69, simply continue to Brampton and follow the brown signs to Lanercost.

By Bus, Train or Plane: Although we recommend guests come by car, in Summer months there is a regular hop-on hop-off 'Hadrian's Wall Bus Service' that passes Lanercost on its scenic route along the Wall between Newcastle and Carlisle. This simply gives guests the flexibility to do a one-way 'Wall walk' and catch the bus back to the cottages. If travelling by train, the nearest mainline train station is Carlisle (13 miles) and the nearest local train station is Brampton Junction (3 miles). Nearest international airport is Newcastle, which is within a 50 minute drive from the cottages.
